ARTHUR, Ill. (WAND) - A man charged with beating and trying to kidnap a girl in February was found not guilty by reason of insanity.Â
The incident happened in Arthur, just west of Arcola, when Arthur police said Lester Raymind beat up a teenage girl and tried to kidnap her.Â
Arthur PD stated that a woman chased Raymind until he let the girl go, and he was later arrested in Lovington after running from the scene.Â
Raymind will be transferred to the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services, and will decide if he needs mental health services.Â
