Festival of Spring at Rock Springs Conservation Area

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Celebrate Earth Day and spring with the Macon County Conservation District this weekend. 

The Festival of Spring will happen from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Rock Springs Conservation Area in Decatur. 

According to the MCCD, the full schedule is as follows:

  • Wagon rides from noon to 3:30 p.m.
  • Live raptor shows presented by the Illinois Raptor Center at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Guided hikes, with the wildflower wander at 1 p.m. and the Earth Day stroll at 2:30 p.m.
  • Canoeing from 1-4 p.m.

Additionally, attendees can enjoy face painting, book signings from local authors Carol Alexander and Carolyn Harmon, meet various animals from Living Water Ranch and tour the Trobaugh-Good House and its gardens. 

There will also be a vendor fair featuring local small businesses and artisans, Just Jenn Creations, By Faith Bakery and more.

KLC Creations and Rockwell Coffee will provide concessions.
