Get your paddles ready at Mt. Zion's pickleball tournament

MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) - Get your paddles ready as the Mt. Zion CEO organization will hold a pickleball tournament event this weekend.

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Mt. Zion Fieldhouse. Matches will start at 9:30 a.m., with the tournament ending around 4 p.m.

There will be a competitive and non-competitive bracket and prizes for both winners, including $1,000 for the competitive side.

A food truck will also be on-site to keep players and attendees fueled for the action.

One representative from the program said the money donated goes back to the community.

"It's a lot of fun, it's a community-building thing we've done two tournaments. This is our second one ... the first one was purely competitive, so there was less people there, but this one we added a non-competitive bracket, which is super interesting," said Head of PR for Mt. Zion CEO Ethan Strohl.

The deadline for sign-ups is Wednesday.
