CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois women's basketball is looking for its first Sweet Sixteen appearance in over 25 years Monday.
The 7-seeded Illini are getting ready to take on 2-seeded Vanderbilt in Nashville. Vanderbilt is 28-4 on the season, coming off a 41-point win over 15-seeded High Point in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This will be just the third time that Illinois and Vanderbilt face each other all time. The series is even at 1-1, with both games taking place in the 1980's.
