CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois women's basketball will open NCAA Tournament action against 10-seeded Colorado on Saturday.
The 7-seeded Fighting Illini are ready for action following a brief run in the Big Ten Tournament. Colorado is 22-11 on the season, including an 11-7 mark in Big 12 play. Both teams will face off for the seventh time ever and will play the winner of the Vanderbilt-High Point matchup on Monday.
According to Illinois Athletics, the University is one of 10 schools to make a bowl game and the men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments in each of the last two years.
