DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Millikin baseball team made the most of miscues by North Park, topping the Vikings 6-5 to claim the CCIW tournament championship and book a trip to the NCAA Division 3 tournament.

The Big Blue clinched the victory on a walk-off wild pitch that allowed Pete Britton to come across home for the game-winner in the 9th inning. Britton reached base on an error earlier in the inning, allowing the Millikin offense to work him into scoring position.

Both teams were held scoreless through 3 innings, before Carder Reich hit an RBI single to right allowing Britton to get Millikin on the board.

North Park responded with a pair of runs in the 5th, but their advantage didn't last. Britton battled for a 2 RBI single in the home half of the inning to put Big Blue up 3-2.

Following a three-run 6th for the Vikings, Millikin scored runs in their half of the 6th and the 8th frame, setting up the last breath effort in the 9th.

Millikin improved to 35-8 and will learn their destination for the NCAA tournament when the field is announced Monday morning at 11am.
