Sunshine returns for the weekend

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Saturday! We are back to sunshine this weekend, but rain will be back before you know it.

A few areas of patchy fog persist through the early morning, but we’ll be back to clear by midday. High pressure is in control today and tomorrow. A passing cold front to the north may allow for a few clouds, but we’ll be able to avoid any rain or even cooler air. Temperatures under sunshine today warm to the mid 50s.

Tonight, clear skies will allow for overnight lows in the mid 30s. We’ve got similar conditions in store for tomorrow. Clouds build in overnight Sunday into Monday ahead of widespread rain that moves in late Monday night.

Rain totals will stay under a half inch for most, and the more impactful change with this passage of this system will be much colder temperatures as we head into Thanksgiving day.
