DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Fire Department was called out for an early morning house fire Monday.Â
DFD responded to the 2100 block of North Monroe St. at 3:36 a.m. They were told there may be people trapped inside a burning house.Â
Heavy smoke and fire was showing when firefighters arrived.Â
They searched the home and did not find anyone. They learned the homeowners were not there at the time.Â
They were able to get the fire out and protect nearby homes.Â
The Decatur Fire Department’s Investigation Bureau arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
