CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Champaign man arrested in connection with a fire at a local church pleaded guilty.
According to court records, Dalton Whitlock pleaded guilty to arson to a place of worship.Â
The incident happened in November 2025 at a church in the 1600 block of Bloomington Road. The fire caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Evidence gathered by the Champaign Fire and Police Departments led to the interview and arrest of Whitlock.
Whitlock will be sentenced on June 23.
