DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Anti-ICE protesters gathered in Danville Saturday after an ICE agent shot and killed a woman during a protest in Minneapolis.
People gathered across from the Vermilion County courthouse, holding signs and taking part in the "ICE Out For Good" rally.
The rally was organized by Indivisible Vermilion County, a local, nonpartisan group of activists.Â
Protests took place across the country over the weekend after an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Good in her car during a protest in Minneapolis Wednesday.
The Trump Administration said Good tried ramming federal agents with her car. However, cellphone video released two days later and taken by an ICE agent shows Good talking to agents before the shooting.
The Department of Homeland Security said the new footage showed that "the officer was in fear of his own life" and "acted in self-defense."
Many experts have criticized the agent's actions, and say the videos do not prove any credible threat.
