DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The City of Decatur receieved $1.4 million in grants to address residential lead hazards in the community. 

The City said on its Facebook page Thursday that it was a first-time recipient of a $1 million Lead Hazard Reduction Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Included was $400,000 in Healthy Homes Supplemental funding. 

The funding will help Decatur families with young children who are experiencing issues with lead in homes, and treat lead sources in the home with state-licensed lead contractors.
