CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Illinois men's basketball has landed another recruit in the class of 2026.

Three-star forward Zavier Zens announced his commitment to the Illini on social media Friday.

Zens led Wisconsin Lutheran High School to their third consecutive state title in his senior season, averaging 23.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

The 6'7" forward shot 62% from the field on the year, including 42% from three point range.

Zens also received Wisconsin Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year honors.

"Zavier first and foremost is a winner," said Illini Head Coach Brad Underwood. "He is an extremely high IQ player who has been well coached and brings a championship pedigree to the table, winning three straight titles. He fits our recruiting mold as a 6-foot-7 versatile wing who can score at all three levels and process the game."

Zens is the fourth player in the 2026 class to join the Fighting Illini, following November signees Ethan Brown, Landon Davis and Lucas Morillo.
